I was lucky enough to hear former Deputy Mayor of Sandwell, Jackie Taylor, speak in detail about the history of the Empire Windrush ship and the contribution of the Windrush Generation and their descendants to our local area at the Windrush 75th Anniversary Event at Sandwell Valley. There were steel pan performances too.
